From their legendary LA-based party, WARP MODE, to mesmerizing Boiler Room sets and performing at internationally renowned festivals the likes of Pitch Music & Arts, Glastonbury, EDC Las Vegas and Splendour In The Grass, AK SPORTS has made an undeniable mark under the fast-paced and dynamic sounds of new world rave. Now prepare for the launch of CLUB MADHOUSE —a daring sonic revolution in hard & fast, gritty breaks, big techno kicks balanced with evocative and emotive vocal hooks and rave inspired synth work. This groundbreaking label aims to bring together an array of femme, non-binary, and ally artists, showcasing their unique sounds alongside AK Sports.
The debut release CLUB MADHOUSE_001 features four tracks - all equipped with slamming techno kicks, gritty percussion and unique emotional journeys. Been A Long Time kicks off the EP with a slamming kick, hypnotizing the listener with the dynamic but fervent percussion, a captivating vocal loop and a bassline that punches you in the guts. Track 2 off the EP is a restrained but likewise heavy-hitting warehouse cut with an experimental twist, a familiar voice moves around a very textured and encapsulating sonic space asking.. Wut U Waiting 4? B1 High As I, AK pays tribute to early trance, adding layers of rolling percussion and playful lustrous synthwork + a sprinkle of breakbeat, a nod to AKs roots in production. The final track Let Me Go introduces a whimsical softness to finish off this stellar EP, beautiful pads and dynamic drum patterns teamed with driving techno sensibilities transports the listener into a more vulnerable space… with undeniably raw vocals, the final drop ends with the same fever and urgency as the EPs first track, an emotive and pensive finish to the journey that is CLUB MADHOUSE_001.

Based on his production output I don't think Nikki Nair has a healthy work-life balance. Great stuff to play above the 128.4bpm mark at bars in Denver, Colorado tho. Markus (Hårek)
Snappy breakbeats, acid-drenched samples, and ’90s techno textures abound on this five-track knockout from the South Korean DJ and producer. Bandcamp New & Notable Sep 13, 2023
